A new company has entered the recreational park trailer business.
Fortress Manufacturing, LLC, a division of Thomasville, Ga.-based American Family Homebuilders, was formed in March to market everything from yellow pine camping cabins to vinyl-sided, suburban-style recreational park trailers.
Fortress President Dave Allen says the company also offers game rooms, laundry facilities and bathhouses, complete with showers, sinks and toilets and residential and commercial modular homes and lodges much larger than park models typically built to a 400-square-foot ANSI standard.
“This makes us a one-stop shop for everything the campground needs,” Fortress Sales Manager Mark Taylor said, adding that park models currently account for about 40% of the company’s business.
Taylor said Fortress has about 30 experienced employees, a number of whom came from other Georgia manufacturers, including Ochlocknee, Ga.-based Stewart Lodges, which ceased production earlier this year. Taylor himself previously worked for Stewart Lodges.
Fortress’ park models start at $13,000, while its bathhouses start at $12,500.
The company’s principals are: Langdon Flowers, Jr., George MacIntosh and Gary Poole. Parent company, American Family Homebuilders, was founded in 2000.
Its other divisions include Community Homebuilders, a manufacturer of modular housing, and Citadel Building Products, which provides wall panels and trusses for stick-built homes. For more information, visit www.fortressmanufacturing.com.
