Two recreational vehicle manufacturers, a chassis builder and a countertop manufacturer are the latest companies to sponsor RV Rescue, the extreme makeover event scheduled for The Rally, April 7-10, at the Daytona International Speedway.
Event organizers said Winnebago Industries Inc., Forest City, Iowa, and Elkhart, Ind.-based Coachmen Industries Inc. have signed on to participate in the overhaul of a 1984 Winnebago Chieftain owned by the Tarconish family of Barnesville, Pa. The entire three-day process will be taped and aired in two segments by RVtoday on the Outdoor Life Network in June.
Winnebago will provide component parts along with on-site service technicians while Coachmen is supplying vehicles for use by RV Rescue workers.
In addition, Workhorse Custom Chassis, Union City, Ind., will be equipping the coach with aluminum wheels and Samsung is providing an on-site fabrication team to install solid surface countertops.
“These four new sponsors for RV Rescue demonstrate how those in the RV industry and those that supply the RV industry are committed to helping RVers get the most out of their coaches and trailers,” said Brad Sargent, vice president of marketing for Elkhart-based Dometic Corp., the lead sponsor of the event.
