The 2005 midrange, rear-engine Presidio Class A, a new offering from the Mandalay Luxury Division of Four Winds International Corp., Elkhart, Ind., a subsidiary of Jackson Center, Ohio-based Thor Industries Inc., was well received during its debut at FMCA’s 72nd International Convention, Aug. 16-19 in Redmond, Ore.
Mounted exclusively on a 330-hp (ISC 8.3-liter Cummins), 32,000-pound GVWR, RDP raised-rail Workhorse R Series chassis, the Presidio extends Four Winds’ reach into a more affordable price range – and one of the most competitive price points in the marketplace today – while retaining the same competitive, value-oriented positioning as the company’s existing higher-priced Mandalay diesel pusher.
All three of the Presidio’s 39-foot models, retailing for $180,000 to $195,000 typically equipped, offer a 36,000-mile, three-year, bumper-to-bumper warranty and feature quad-slides and an optional full-body paint package over a smooth gelcoat fiberglass exterior with custom molded end caps.
“Basically, this is the second step of several for the Mandalay Luxury Division,” reports Carter Yoder, national sales manager for the new division. “And it allows us to compete in a price point that we weren’t able to before.”
