Elkhart, Ind.-based Forest River Inc. has developed the first Class A motorhome mounted on the new 26,000-pound GVWR Workhorse UFO gas-pusher chassis. A 36-foot gas-powered Georgetown UFO that duplicated an existing front-engine gas floorplan was shown recently at the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Show in Hershey, Pa. A more fully developed 39-foot triple slideout floorplan is expected to debut at the 44th Annual National RV Trade Show Nov. 28-30 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. The coach will feature a front entryway, opposing front sofa slideouts and a king-bed bedroom slideout with a full rear-wall wardrobe patterned after Forest River’s most popular diesel offerings. Workhorse Custom Chassis Inc., Union City, Ind., debuted the UFO chassis in September giving manufacturers the opportunity to install rear-mounted diesel or gas engine without changing floorplan configurations. Shown here in Hershey with 22 1/2-inch wheels and a full body paint option, this Georgetown UFO will retail for about $135,000. “This is going to be our most expensive coach at this time,” said Craig Fawcett, national sales manager for Forest River’s motorized division. “It will be less expensive than most entry-level diesels and a lot more feature-laden.”
