National RV dealership alliance FreedomRoads LLC today (Aug. 13) announced the acquisition of Burnside RV, Houghton Lake, Mich., giving the retail network a presence in the northern part of the Wolverine State.
With the move, FreedomRoads, Lincolnshire, Ill., now has 46 dealerships in 19 states.
Burnside RV, which has a second store in Gaylord, is the largest fifth-wheel dealer in Northern Michigan and one of the largest towable dealers in Michigan, according to a statement released by FreedomRoads. The dealership is operated by brothers Mike and Jim Burnside, sons of founder Larry Burnside, who started the business in 1979.
“Having the Burnside family on our team is truly a compliment to our organization,” said Johnny Sirpilla, FreedomRoads’ Mid-America regional president and co-founder.
“Their stores are clean, customer centered and a powerhouse in delivering towable products – 600 new products per year,” added Sirpilla, who also operates FreedomRoads’ Sirpilla RV Centers, Akron, Ohio.
“Now we have the opportunity with a company that has the hands-on know how and the human and capital resources to actually get everyone to the next level, especially in the area of customer service,” said Jim Burnside.
“When we first looked at Burnside RV to consider them for our team, we saw good and talented people who made high levels of customer service a top priority,” said Marcus Lemonis, co-founder, president and CEO of FreedomRoads. “This is not missed by the customer.”
Burnside RV will continue to be operated by Mike and Jim Burnside.
