Portland, Ore.-based Freightliner LLC announced that Jack Conlan has been named as senior vice president of the company’s customer support division.
According to a press release, Conlan had been serving as president of the Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) business unit since 1998. Under Conlan’s guidance, FCCC, based in Gaffney, S.C., increased sales by 27% in 2004 to 28,400 units while establishing a leadership position in the Class A diesel motorhome sector.
In his new role, Conlan will be charged with the continued expansion of Freightliner LLC’s parts business, which exceeded $1 billion in revenues in 2004, as well as key strategic initiatives related to parts support, service development, service quality and warranty. Conlan, who will relocate to Portland, also will serve as a member of the Freightliner LLC executive committee and will represent FCCC on the committee.
“Jack Conlan combines a strong, results-focus with a broad business vision and outstanding leadership qualities,” said Chris Patterson, president and CEO of Freightliner LLC. “He is a great choice to lead Freightliner LLC’s service and parts initiatives as we work alongside our brand dealers to provide an unparalleled ownership experience for our customers.”
Conlan has over 20 years experience in truck and automotive manufacturing, and has held a range of management positions in production, quality and plant and division operations. He earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
