Freightliner Customer Chassis Corp. will introduce a high-GVWR Powerliner III diesel pusher motorhome chassis at RVIA’s 44th Annual National RV Trade Show Nov. 28-30 at the Kentucky Expo Center, Louisville, Ky. The tag-axle, raised-rail chassis, with wheelbases from 252 to 296 inches and GVWRs from 44,600 to 48,660 pounds, will be equipped standard with the 500-hp Cummins ISM diesel engine. Standard Powerliner III features include a 60-degree wheel cut, Freightliner-logoed beveled aluminum wheels, all-wheel air disc brakes, tire pressure monitoring system and automatic load proportioning. The Powerliner III features standard the lower-engine position that the Gaffney, S.C., company has offered on an optional basis for the last two years, allowing motorhome builders to design flat floors in a coach’s rear quarters. Production of the Powerliner III, built to accommodate motorhomes in the $300,000-plus sector, will begin in the first quarter of 2007.
