Entry-level towable manufacturer Frontier RV Inc. is expanding operations to the Southeast with the acquisition of a 120,000-square-foot production facility in Fitzgerald, Ga.
“We chose Fitzgerald after significant discussions with local and state officials,” said Johnny Hernandez, president and CEO of Longview, Texas-based Frontier. “The work force, vendor support and location were ideal for our expansion objectives.”
According to a press release, the new manufacturing site would place Frontier closer to the company’s growing market in the Southeast.
“Our business model has always been to limit the number of dealers in our market and to limit our market area to a five-hundred mile radius of our facility,” Hernandez said. “This strategy has allowed us to keep our dealers’ freight costs significantly below other manufacturer’s rates and enabled us to replace dealer retails in less than three weeks.
“We will continue this strategy with our new facility by only servicing Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and North and South Carolina.”
Hernandez said ramp-up time would be minimal due to the company’s “modular design” and anticipated the plant’s first shipment heading to dealers in mid-June.
