The Florida RV Trade Association’s (FRVTA) board of directors voted to move the 2006 FRVTA State Convention, slated for Sept. 7-10, from the Renaissance Orlando Resort at SeaWorld to the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs.
FRVTA said the reason for the move was due to a conflict with the Renaissance hotel’s renovation/construction schedule.
“There was going to be a great deal of construction at the hotel and we felt that our members deserve a quality resort without the mess of construction,” said FRVTA President Scott Schmidt. “We tried to renegotiate with the Renaissance and they said there was nothing they could do to improve our stay.
“The vote was unanimous as we had two excellent resorts to chose from. We are looking forward to another excellent convention with education programs and lots of fun for all attendees.”
The FRVTA is still accepting sponsors for some of the convention activities along with donations to the silent auction.
