The Northeast Florida chapter of the Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) is bringing its annual Jacksonville Fall RV Show to Green Cove Springs in October at the Clay County Agricultural Fairgrounds.

The Florida Times Union reported that hundreds of 2019 model recreational vehicles will be on display at the four-day event — Thursday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, Oct. 13. Participating dealers include Campers Inn RV of Jacksonville, Creative RV, Dick Gore’s RV World of Jacksonville, General RV Center of Orange Park and Ocean Grove RV Supercenter of St. Augustine.

“We had a very successful show at Morocco Shrine last fall, but when they announced they were selling the property, our members really wanted to look further south, and for a more permanent location,” FRVTA Northeast Region President Ken Loyd said this week. “We’ve had a great experience working with the personnel at the Clay County Fairgrounds in coordinating our setup there this fall, and we’re expecting some great attendance from RV owners and potential owners in the area.”

Moving the fall show to Clay County puts the association closer to its original goal of having a second regional show on the south end of Jacksonville. The group holds its annual Jacksonville RV Mega Show at the Equestrian Center on the western end of Duval County. The 2020 show is set for Feb. 6-9.

The FRVTA’s regional chapter launched its fall show back in 2015 at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds in Elkton on SR 207. However, after having to cancel fall shows in 2016 and 2017 because state and county agencies needed to use the facilities for storm recovery from hurricanes Matthew and Irma, the group has been trying out other locations in the area.
