FRVTA reported in its July newsletter that this year’s convention, themed “Discover Your Inner Hero! RV Con 2015,” will feature a full slate of guest speakers along with updates on industry and association news.
Members can settle in Thursday evening at the “Avengers Assemble Welcoming Reception,” on Thursday evening, followed by the opening of the convention at Friday morning’s general session. The session feature representatives from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) offering updates on the record-setting year the industry is enjoying.
Friday activities will include the “To Infinity and Beyond” golf outing along with a “Stroke of Genius” painting class and the “Up, Up and Away” movie matinee. That evening, FRVTA will host “The Hero in All of Us” costume/dinner party.
Saturday morning the breakout sessions will bring detailed information to attendees in smaller, more intimate classroom settings. Topics include: Allen Monello will cover dealer compliance issues; Tom Walworth from Statistical Surveys Inc. will take a look at the industry numbers; and Florida’s Highway Safety Department and Department of Revenue will both hold sessions to answer dealer’s questions. FRVTA’s Training Director Jim Carr will also hold a seminar on the new LP gas licensing requirement and there will be a session covering website search optimization.
Saturday feature “Super Dave” and his “Super Friends” presenting a game show luncheon. Contestants will vie for cash and prizes just like the “Let’s Make a Deal” game. “Name That TV Show/Movie Theme Song” and super hero trivia will also be a part of the lunch.
The convention wraps up that evening with the “Hall of Justice” awards banquet and silent auction. The silent auction benefits the FRVPC Fund and will feature such items as weekend getaways, I-pads, e-readers, I-watches and Disney gift certificates.
FRVTA reported there are still a few sponsorship opportunities and prize donations for the silent auction and the game show luncheon are still needed. For more information or to make a donation, contact FRVTA at (813) 741-0488.
