frvta-logoThe Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) will be holding its 29th Annual State Convention Sept. 11-13 at the Hyatt Coconut Point Resort located just south of Fort Myers.

This year’s convention will bring together the brightest and best minds in the RV industry to bring all members up-to-date on the state of the industry and what to expect in the coming months, according to a news release.

The theme for the convention is “RV Business 101…Back to Basics” with an emphasis on education.

Friday afternoon will be time for the “Skip Day” Golf Outing and the “Spring Break” games and contests held at the hotel.  That evening the “School Days” Costume/Dinner Party will feature everything from cheerleaders and coaches to band members and football players.

Saturday morning kicks off the general session with industry updates from Gary LaBella, vice president and chief marketing officer for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA), and Mike Molino, president of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA).  They will provide an update on how the RV industry is faring and what you should look for in the next 12-18 months. FRVTA Education Director Jim Carr and General Council Marc Dunbar will bring everyone up-to-date on the RV training program and the recent legislative session.

Saturday’s lunch will again feature “Professor Dave” and his “Pep Rally” Game Show.  Contestants will be able to find out if they are in fact smarter than a fifth-grader and at the same time win great prizes and cash.

Saturday afternoon the break-out sessions will bring very detailed information to attendees in smaller, more intimate class-room settings:

  • Roger and Sheril Vergara will host a session that addresses marketing in tough economics times.
  • John Mancinelli will present a seminar on increasing sales in your dealership.
  • Brenda Ogle will be back again with her sales tax/audit seminar that is a must-see for all RV dealers.
  • Allen Monello will cover dealer compliance Issues.
  • Marc Dunbar will go more in depth with his legislative update session.

The convention wraps up that evening with the “Graduation” Awards Banquet and Silent Auction.

FRVTA still has a few sponsorship opportunities and is still taking prize donations for the silent auction and the game show luncheon.  For more information or to make a donation, contact the FRVTA at (813) 741-0488 or contact David Kelly directly at (813) 714-3445.
