In what should be good news for the RV industry and RVers, the national average price for gasoline dipped below $2 a gallon on Friday (June 11), according to www.fuelgaugereport.com, a service of auto owners club AAA.
On Friday, the national average price for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve stations was $1.994 a gallon, almost 1 cent less than the national average price of $2.002 a gallon on Thursday (June 10).
The fuelgaugereport.com figures are based on credit-card swipes at 60,000 service stations nationwide.
The all-time record high national average price for gasoline, not adjusted for inflation, was $2.054 a gallon set on May 26, a few days before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
A year-ago, the national average price for unleaded regular gas was $1.503 a gallon, according to fuelgaugereport.com.
he national average price for diesel on Friday was $1.803 a gallon, nearly 3 cents below the all-time record of $1.831 a gallon also reached on May 26.
