Diesel fuel prices are at a record high and gasoline prices are inching closer to a record high, according to Fulegaugereport.com, a service of the American Automobile Association (AAA).
The national average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline now is $1.69 a gallon, while the all-time record high is $1.718 a gallon set on May 15, 2001.
In California, the nation’s most populous state and largest RV market, self-serve regular unleaded now averages $2.068 a gallon, according to Fuelgaugereport.com.
A month ago, the national average price for self-serve regular unleaded was $1.546 a gallon and a year ago, it was $1.169 a gallon.
Meanwhile, the national average price for diesel fuel is at an all-time record high of $1.811 a gallon. In California, diesel costs an average of $1.986 a gallon.
A month ago, the national average price for diesel was $1.594 a gallon and a year ago, it was $1.242 a gallon.
