Gen-Y Hitch, manufacturer of hitches that incorporate a patented torsion design to reduce the shock typically transferred between the tow vehicle and trailer, announced that the company will be showcasing its newest product, the “Executive” fifth-wheel torsion hitch, during the Elkhart RV Open House. The “Executive” torsion hitch will be shown at the Gen-Y booth in the supplier tent located at the Elkhart Airport.

Carl Borkholder, president of Gen-Y Hitch, stated in a press release, “We are excited to be entering the RV marketplace in a more tangible way with this unique new product.  We already have a number of dealers who are upgrading their customers into our hitches and the retail response has been phenomenal.”

Gen-Y’s Executive hitch comes in two versions, a fifth-wheel king pin and a fifth-wheel to gooseneck conversion. Both are easy to set up and there is no drilling involved in mounting them. “The bolt pattern allows the hitch to be mounted to almost any RV or trailer out on the market right now,” reports Borkholder, “It is also fully adjustable so you can raise or lower it to your desired height.

“The torsion-flex technology makes it one of the smoothest riding pin boxes on the market. This technology carries the weight, acting as a cushion to absorb the movement of whatever is being towed. Our customers have reported they are seeing up to three miles per gallon in fuel savings and their tires are lasting longer because there’s less wear and tear due to this technology.”

The Executive pin boxes are available in two different connection styles. The king pin allows RVers to hook onto the fifth-wheel hitch in the bed of their truck, while the fifth-wheel to goose conversion hooks to a gooseneck ball so there is no need to remove the RV from the truck when done towing.
