It is hard to miss the giant parking lots of motorhomes and RVs driving along Interstate 77 in Green, Ohio.
The Massillon Independent reported that General RV has grown significantly in the 10 years the company has been in business.
Sales Manager Tim Nicholson said the company does a little of everything, including sales, parts, service and rentals.
He said they stock 600 and 700 units, ranging from motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheels, toy haulers and popup campers. Selecting the right RV or motorhome is important, he said, and his team helps customers meet their needs. He likes to sit down with potential buyers and see what they plan to use it for and discuss their budget.
“We sell fun,” Nicholson said. “People come here because they want (an RV), not because they need one.”
The company serves young families and those who have retired.
“I always tell families with children,” Nicholson said, “if they buy one, they will no longer hear three things: ‘Are we there yet?’ ‘I have to go’ and ‘I’m hungry.’”
Being located near Interstate 77 has been critical to the company’s growth.
“Being right off the freeway gives people easy access,” Nicholson said. “There is lots to look at along the freeway when you drive by.”
