It’s the latest twist in the ongoing explosion of so-called “toy hauler” or “SURV” recreational vehicles – a diesel pusher motorhome with a cargo-hauling “garage” situated beneath the carriage and between the wheel wells. German manufacturer Volkner Mobile RV is showing this unique storage slideout, large enough to accommodate a low profile car, at Caravan Salon ’06, an international trade fair of recreational vehicles, mobile homes and camping equipment at the fairgrounds in Dusseldorf, Germany. The platform that the car sits on is a bit short of 16 1/2 feet in length and accommodates a low-profile vehicle such as a BMW Z4, Mini Cooper convertible or Mercedes-Benz SLK.
