Campers Inn, a three-location RV dealership with l Get Ex To Want You Back ocations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, is building a new store Merrimack, N.H., which will replace its Nashua, N.H., location, according to The Telegraph of Nashua, N.H.
The new facility in Merrimack will be about twice as big at the Campers Inn store in Nashua, where the dealership has operated for 24 years.
The 46,000-square foot showroom and service center is expected to be completed in December and it will open for business in January or February, according to Ed McNamara, general manager.
The new Campers Inn location is being built on a 17-acre parcel along the Daniel Webster Highway. It will have 22,000-square-feet of additional indoor space and six more acres outdoors than is available now in Nashua, McNamara added.
The new facility will include a 10,000-square-foot showroom for new motorhomes and towables. The dealership has only 900 square feet of indoor showroom space now in Nashua where it displays folding campers.
In Merrimack, Campers Inn also will have 132 outdoor RV parking spaces, versus 12 available now in Nashua.
Basically, Campers Inn needed to find a new site in the Nashua area because it is surrounded by a soft drink bottling plant and a discount department store at its current location, McNamara said.
Also, being along a major highway will make the dealership visible to more motorists, he said.
The other Campers Inn locations are in Kingston, N.H., and Raynham, Mass. The dealership was founded by Arthur and Francis Hirsch in 1966 when they began selling folding campers from their front lawn. They went into RV retailing full-time in 1970, according to the dealership’s website.
