Multilocation Southern California dealership Giant RV will move its headquarters from Upland to Montclair, Calif., in the first half of July, according to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Giant RV owner Bob Barouti hopes the Montclair headquarters and dealership can open on July 1, although the opening might need to be pushed back to July 15.
In Upland, where Giant RV has operated for 19 years, the dealership can display 65 to 70 motorized and towable units. But at the new Montclair location, there is display space for 150 units.
“Companywide, Giant RV now sells over 325 motorhomes and trailers a month,” Barouti said. “We needed a location by the freeway and we were very fortunate to find a piece of property here (Montclair).”
Meanwhile, Upland town Councilman Tom Thomas praised Giant RV for being a good corporate citizen. “They’ve been a great business for us and good generator of sales tax,” Thomas told the Daily Bulletin. “We hate to lose them but their real goal was to be along the freeway and clearly the new location is better for them”
Giant RV’s other locations are in Corona, Colton, Irvine and Indio, Calif. The company also plans to open locations in Temecula and Murietta, Calif., next year.
In 2002, Giant RV’s sales revenue totaled around $150 million, the Daily Bulletin reported.
Giant RV stocks models built by Fleetwood, Monaco, National RV, Winnebago, Thor, Weekend Warrior, Skyline, Carriage, Trail-Lite and Forest River.
