California-based multi-location dealership Giant RV ranked as the highest volume U.S. retailer for new unit sales in 2005, according to Statistical Surveys Inc.
The company, which operates six locations in California, sold 4,932 new RVs last year. Company officials said it was the first time in its history that it had earned the top ranking.
Mike Thompson RV Center, operating three California retail stores, ranked second with 4,068 new units sold. Seffner, Fla.-based Lazydays, the top volume producer in 2004, was third with 3,565 units sold.
Other top-performing retailers in 2005 according to data from Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Statistical Surveys include:
• General RV Center, with six stores in Michigan, ranked fourth among U.S. retailers with 2,557 new units sold.
• Stiers RV, a FreedomRoads dealership operating five retail outlets in California, was ranked fifth with 2,262 new RVs sold.
• Dan Gamel’s RV Center, operating eight locations in California and one outlet in Arizona, ranked sixth with 1,802 units sold.
• Poulsbo RV, with six locations in Washington State, was ranked seventh among U.S. retailers with 1,567 new RVs sold.
