Multi-location Southern California dealership Giant RV plans to open a sixth location and to move its corporate headquarters next year, according to the company.
Record sales levels in December and January gave Giant RV executives confidence to continue on the growth path, said Dan Johnson, general manager.
Giant RV opened a fifth location in Irvine in upscale Orange County, Calif., late last year and it plans to open a sixth sales facility during 2003 in Murrieta, Calif., in southwest Riverside County, near the San Diego County line.
Also, Giant RV plans to move its corporate headquarters and flagship showroom from Upland to Montclair next year. Both communities are about 30 miles east of Los Angeles.
The company plans to build a 12,000-square-foot showroom in Montclair.
Giant RV’s other locations are in Corona, Colton and Palm Desert, Calif.
Contributing to the record sales volumes the last two months was the heightened interest in RVing following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Johnson said.
“I think a lot of people want to spend U.S. dollars on U.S. products and see America,” he said.
Giant RV’s motorhome inventory includes units built by Fleetwood, National RV, Winnebago and Monaco, including Monaco’s Safari brand. In towables, it sells units built by Weekend Warrior, Skyline, National RV, Carriage and R-Vision’s Trail-Lite brand.
