Go RVing Canada is launching its first National RV Weekend, and has partnered with Make-A-Wish Canada to help raise funds with Wish lanterns, which can be purchased for $2 by campers and event attendees.

The Journal-Pioneer reported that 11 campgrounds across Canada will be participating, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Make-A-Wish Canada.

Due to heavily wooded areas and the regulations in each province including Prince Edward Island, there will be a Wish garden of lanterns with LED flameless tea lights, while other campgrounds will release open flame lanterns into the air at 10 p.m. local time.

Chris Mahoney, the executive director for GO RVing Canada, said the company wanted to celebrate RVing in Canada, and to bring the community together for a fun event on June 13 and 14.

“What really made it come to life was deciding it would be great to partner with Make-A-Wish Canada.”
