Who was the one-millionth person to become a member of the Good Sam Club?
No one knows for sure, but it is certain that more than 1 million people have become members of Good Sam, the 34-year-old membership organization that provides discounts on RV merchandise, insurance and emergency road service.
Because the one-millionth member could not be pinpointed, Good Sam honored the 30 members who joined around the time the seven-figure plateau was reached. They were honored recently during the Great North American RV Rally in Gillette, Wyo.
The rally was sponsored by Affinity Group Inc., parent of the Good Sam Club and of TL Enterprises, publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.com.
During the rally, the 30 club members played a game called “Who Wants to Be the Millionth Member?”, loosely based on the popular ABC game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
The winner was Lloyd Cook of Uvalde, Texas, who received a new 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara, valued at $20,000.
