The Good Sam Club, the world’s largest RV owners organization, has partnered with Consumer Cellular Inc. to provide wireless service to the nearly 1 million club members.
According to a press release, the endorsement provides Good Sam’s members with significant discounts on Consumer Cellular’s broad range of national wireless plans.
“Communication is a key issue for RV travelers,” said Sue Bray, executive director of the Good Sam Club, “and cellular technology is the perfect solution. Not only are cell phones crucial to emergency situations on the road, but thanks to them, RVers can stay in contact with their families, businesses and friends, no matter where they may roam.
“We are delighted that this program should be saving our members some money, as well as providing them with excellent service.”
Headquartered in Portland, Ore., Consumer Cellular’s retail service does not include long-term contracts – subscribers are free to cancel service at any time – and offers an assortment of rate plans starting at an industry-low $10 per month. Service is ordered via phone or the Internet and handsets are shipped directly to customers.
“We believed from the start that Good Sam members would be a wonderful audience for our service,” said John Marick, president of Consumer Cellular. “They’re highly mobile, financially comfortable and recognize a good value. We’re truly excited Good Sam selected Consumer Cellular as its official wireless provider and confident they made a wise decision.”
The Good Sam Club is affiliated with Affinity Group Inc., parent to RV Business and RVBUSINESS.com.
