Over 800 Grand Design enthusiasts are interacting with management and taking part in a host of activities and seminars as part of this week’s 5th Annual Indiana Owners Rally at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen. The event opened Tuesday (Aug. 28) and concludes on Friday.

Tom Holt, marketing communications manager for Grand Design Recreation Vehicles, told RVBUSINESS.com that around 385 rigs were set up at the fairground’s expansive camping area. He noted that the event is strictly owner-run and is one of 15 rallies held around the country every year.  (To view a video click here or scroll to the right side of the RVBUSINESS.com home page).

“Grand Design does not host the rallies, but we throw in our support when owners want to get one started up,” he said, adding that Pam and Red Berrs were serving as “wagonmasters” for the Indiana rally.

During the five-day event, Grand Design management and salespeople are taking advantage of the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the company’s customer base.

“Last night, President Don Clark led a fireside chat,” Holt related. “It’s always one of the highlights. But throughout the event, we have been interacting with the owners to get feedback on their experience and understand what we can do to improve that experience.”

Several tours of Elkhart County were part of the agenda, including stops at the Studebaker Museum and Notre Dame University, along with targeted daily seminars and “how-to sessions” from a contingent of Elkhart County suppliers. “We are also offering service throughout the rally from our own technicians and by our vendors,” Holt offered.

Owners were also able to view new Grand Design product, including the 21G Momentum travel trailer toy hauler and the Solitude S-Class fifth-wheel line.
