Elkhart-based Great Lakes Forest Products has announced plans to launch a new sister company in Bristol. Inside Indiana Business reported that the company says Great Lakes Lamination will result in up to 100 new jobs over the next few years.
Great Lakes Lamination says it will invest $7 million to establish operations in Bristol, with plans to begin production this summer. The company will produce laminated wood panels for the RV industry.
Great Lakes Forest Products co-owner Mark Smith says he remains “optimistic and hopeful that our market penetration will continue to grow.”
The company will be led by the leadership team of sister company Great Lakes Forest Products. Great Lakes Lamination is planning to hire between 50 and 100 workers by the end of 2022. It says it will ramp up recruiting efforts in the second quarter of this year to hire new production positions.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Great Lakes Lamination up to $500,000 in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The town of Bristol approved additional incentives.
