The new owner of Indian Point RV Resort in Gautier, Miss., intends to add 110 spaces for RVs, 25 camping cabins and a restaurant, according to the SunHerald of Biloxi, Miss.
Wendell Lee of Pascagoula, Miss., bought the RV resort, located on Sioux Bayou between Biloxi and Pascagoula, from Thousand Trails RV Resorts on Aug. 1, the newspaper reported.
The expansion will provide the Gautier with more tax revenue, according to an economic consultant who was quoted by the SunHerald. Currently, the resort generates around $700,000 in annual sales, which will increase to about $2 million a year in about two years with the new facilities, according to consultant Connie Moran.
The resort now has 140 RV spaces and 15 camping cabins.
At $700,000 in annual revenue, the resort provides Gautier with about $9,000 a year in tax payments, Moran said.
