Gulf Stream Coach Inc. introduced the new Track & Trail sport utility RV (SURV) line – the company’s first entry into the sector on the towable side – during its dealer open house on June 3 at its Nappanee, Ind., complex. The toy hauler line debuts with three travel travel trailers and one fifth-wheel ranging in length from 22 to 30 feet and retailing from $17,500 to $23,500. A 29-foot slideout model will be added to the lineup. The wood-framed series comes with aluminum siding standard and optional fiberglass sidewalls. All Track & Trail models are equipped with torsion axles, offering stabilized towing empty or full, plus eight tie-downs, a fully equipped kitchen, sprayed-in seamless cargo liner and 100-gallon fresh water tank. A “weightless” rear gate features a hidden wraparound coil spring and an oversized ramp area. All models are 8 feet wide. John Stringer, towable division manager, said that before launching the line Gulf Stream extensively researched the sector, which stretches beyond the mainstream RV market. “We wanted to see what people truly wanted,” Stringer said, noting that the builder concentrated its research efforts on the West Coast where SURVs are estimated to account for more than 40% of the towable market.
