Gulf Stream Coach Inc. reported that its towables division, which recently opened a dedicated facility for production of the company’s light-weight products, posted a 31% increase in first-quarter sales.
“We attribute this increase to our new product offerings and new fifth-wheel floorplans, as well as our additional team support in the production, sales and service departments,” said Dan Shea, towable division president.
The privately owned full-line builder, based in Nappanee, Ind., noted that a contributing factor to the increase in sales was the division’s focus on the Canadian market, where exchange rates are favorable.
Responding to the increased demand, Gulf Stream expanded its towable production facilities. According to the company, the light-weight towable plant in Etna Green is quadrupling its production space while new lines were added for the Conquest and Innsbruck fifth-wheels in January.
Gulf Stream’s new toy hauler, the Track ‘n Trail, also went into production on May 2.
Gulf Stream is holding its dealer open house in June at its Nappanee complex to introduce new motorized and towable product lines.
