Herbert Reeves Jr., 84, who was inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in 1979, died last Thursday (Jan. 15) in Elkhart, Ind., after a brief illness.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Reeves moved to Elkhart in 1952 and eventually founded several travel trailer manufacturing companies, including Covered Wagon Travel Trailers, Easy Traveler, De Camp Trailers and Bon-Aire Trailers.
He also owned and operated the Arrowhead Park Campground in nearby Jones, Mich., and his work for Michigan’s campground owners association was among the reasons why he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Elkhart.
Services for Reeves were today (Jan. 19) at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart.
