H. Wayne Hambly of PEI Home & RV Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, was named 2008 Canadian RV Dealer of the Year during the Sept. 23-26 RV Dealers International Convention and Expo in Las Vegas.
“This is truly an honor, I have been very blessed to have had the opportunity to work in such a remarkable industry for the last 40 years,” said Hambly at the RVDA of Canada annual meeting while accepting the Walter Paseska Memorial Canadian RV Dealer of the Year Award.
Hambly served as president of RVDA of Canada from 2006-2007 and as a board member from 1997-2008. He also founded the Atlantic Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (ARVDA) and has served on their executive committee for many years.
In addition to his contributions to the industry Hambly has been involved in community affairs since 1986, holding several leadership positions while receiving the 2007 PEI Red Cross Humanitarian Award.
The RVDA of Canada, in conjunction with RV Lifestyle magazine and Dealer News, annually accepts nominations from across Canada for the year’s top dealer.
The award is dedicated to the memory of the late Walt Paseska, founder of Walt’s Trailer Sales in Headingley, Manitoba, in recognition of his many years of commitment and dedication to the RV industry.
