Winnebago Industries Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Bruce Hertzke will appear on Public Broadcasting Systems’ Wall $treet Week with Fortune TV program tonight (Sept. 6).
Tonight’s show will be a 9/11 retrospective also featuring New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Chairman and CEO Dick Grasso and two World Trade Center survivors.
Hertzke will appear near the end of the program to describe how Americans have reacted positively to the tragedy by choosing to spend more time with loved ones and to travel domestically in RVs.
Last month, Hertzke told the Wall Street Journal he was so worried the terrorist attacks would cause the RV market to dry-up, that he shut down production around the time of last year’s Louisville Show.
But his mood improved dramatically after seeing the RV market was quite resilient and he announced early this year that Winnebago will build a new motorhome assembly plant in Charles City, Iowa, that will expand the company’s output capactiy 30%.
The new factory will go into production early next year.
Wall $treet Week is seen by about two million people weekly.
Winnebago is a NYSE-listed company.
