Holiday RV Superstores Inc., a 13-location dealership chain, has opened an Internet “virtual dealership” that consumers can use to make online purchases of new or used RVs from its inventory.

The company, which does business at Recreation USA, also sells new and used boats, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and used sport utility vehicles, trucks and cars over its Web site, recusa.com.

Consumers can choose to take delivery at a Recreation USA dealership or at their home or office. When buying a new unit, consumers could take delivery at the factory where their unit was built or they could have it shipped from the factory directly to them, said Mary Ann Sabo, spokeswoman for Holiday RV Superstores.

Currently, a RV can be purchased online through an exchange of e-mails or phone calls with a Recreation USA salesperson, Sabo said. In the future, it will become possible to complete the purchase process online, although consumers would be encouraged to visit a Recreation USA dealership to walk-through and test-drive the unit in which they are interested, she added.

It currently is possible to order parts and accessories, and apply for financing and insurance coverage through recusa.com, she added.
