Holland Motor Homes dealerships in San Diego, Calif., (shown) and Holland, Mich., which specialize in high-end coaches, opened new sales facilities this spring. Holland Motor Homes of San Diego Inc. doubled the size of its property with the purchase of an adjacent three acres on I-52 for outdoor display space. While the San Diego store added a 3,500-square-foot sales office that opened in May, the parts and service department moved into the freed-up space in the dealership’s 16,000-square-foot main building. “We increased our inventory and spread out the service department a little bit,” said President Mike Dykstra. “We were crunched. When we built this building 10 years ago, the industry didn’t have slideouts.” In Holland, Mich., Holland Motor Homes and Bus Co. in March opened a 5,000-square-foot showroom that replaced two service bays, which had been used to display motorhomes indoors. “We can get up to 10 motorhomes into the showroom now,” said President John Dykstra, Mike’s brother. “It’s got glass on three sides and has five doors, so it’s easy to get things in and out.” The two dealerships are owned by the brothers along with sibling Jack Dykstra.
