Homesteader Trailers Inc., New Tazewell, Tenn., has added a living quarters option to its line of Stallion equestrian trailers. The 30-foot fifth-wheel features three horse stalls and a fully equipped, 131-square-foot living space.
Founded in 1986, Homesteader also manufactures trailers/haulers for motorcycles, cars and livestock, as well as hydraulic dump trailers, aluminum trailers, contractor trailers and general purpose trailers.
The Stallion LQ is the family owned company’s first entry into the RV market, and officials are excited at its “possibilities and potential.”
“This particular project has been in the works for about a year,” said Jerry Bundren, Homesteader vice president of sales. “We introduced it simply to expand our offerings. We’re one of the most diverse manufacturers of trailers in the cargo hauling industry, and the Stallion LQ is another expansion of that diversity.”
The fully insulated living quarters features a three-piece bathroom, ducted A/C with heat strip, gas furnace, 6-cubic foot refrigerator, stainless steel microwave, two-burner stainless steel recessed stove with cover, leather-touch sofa bed, cabinet storage and a step-up full bed over the hitch. Electric jacks and a power awning are available.
Homesteader partnered with Sierra Custom Interiors in Bristol, Ind., to design the interior.
The rear of the two-axle unit features a saddle rack room and three equestrian stalls. Bundren said there is no established MSRP for the Stallion LQ, but dealers are selling it for under $40,000 – a sweet spot for its target market of horse lovers who want to stay with their animals while at equestrian shows.
The price point makes the trailer “very marketable from a dealer standpoint,” Bundren said.
