Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) President Dave Humphreys recently joined the board of directors of the Sport Utility Owners of America , according to Bill Brouse, founder of the SUVOA.
Derrick Crandall, president of the American Recreation Coalition (ARC), of which the RVIA is a member, also has joined the SUVOA board.
Additionally, RV parks consultant Dave Gorin, former head of the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC), has been invited to join the board, Brouse said.
SUVOA, which was founded in 1999 and recently appointed a broad-based board of directors, hopes to increase its visibility and expand its grassroots support, Brouse said.
The organization was formed “to give voice to the 22 million SUV owners whose rights are being trampled by special interests and activist groups, as well as to provide consumers with practical information about their SUVs,” Brouse said. It “actively defends the rights of SUV owners and rebuts false charges regarding SUVs’ safety and environmental record,” he added.
