Ron Huneycutt has resigned as president and CEO of dealership chain Holiday RV Superstores Inc., which does business as Recreation USA, the company announced today (March 13).

Replacing Huneycutt as president is Marcus Lemonis, who has senior management experience at AutoNation USA, the car dealership roll-up after which Recreation USA is patterning itself.

“Lemonis will be responsible for assimilating Recreation USA’s 14 dealerships under a single management umbrella while reducing overhead costs,” according to a Recreation USA statement.

Meanwhile, Recreation USA founder and Chairman Mike Riley will add the role of CEO.

“By focusing on better assimilating our current dealerships, we will have in place a solid operating plan that will allow us to reap immediate financial benefits when we add a new dealership,” Riley said. “We plan to continue making acquisitions during 2001 and we feel that the current market will provide more favorable pricing opportunities for Recreation USA.”

Recreation USA had $152 million in sales during its fiscal year 2000, which ended last Oct. 31, but Riley continues to believe the company will reach $1 billion in annual revenue by the end of its fiscal year 2002.
