A proposal for an expanded recreational vehicle storage lot for the General RV Center in Huntley, Ill., will be up for consideration by during the Huntley Plan Commission meeting.
The Northwest Herald reported that the family-owned dealership is seeking approval of an amended special use permit for recreational vehicle sales, final plat of consolidation and site plan review.
General RV began as a 33,280-square-foot showroom and maintenance building with 150 parking stalls for recreational vehicles on an 8.28-acre site.
The dealership expanded in 2013 on a about 4.5 acre site to the north. This included a 13,240-square-foot recreational vehicle service building with office space and an additional 92 parking stalls for RVs.
After purchasing 8 acres of land on the former site of the Huntley Outlet Center last year, the Huntley Village Board approved an 18,409-square-foot addition to General RV’s maintenance department in the main building.
