Hot coffee will be on hand by 6:15 a.m. Thursday (May 9) for early risers attending the 2019 RV Industry Power Breakfast – well before the annual spring gathering of civic and business leaders gets underway at the Northern Indiana Event Center, part of the RV/MH Hall of Fame (HOF) on the northeast side of the RV-building hub of Elkhart, Ind.
That’s earlier than previous years as Power Breakfast administrator BJ Thompson wants to make sure that the anticipated crowd has time to get situated and enjoy a catered 6:45 a.m. breakfast before the program starts at 7:15 a.m.
Keynoting this year’s breakfast will be first-term Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb along with nationally syndicated economist Peter Morici, whose appearance is sponsored by Wells Fargo CDF. RV Industry Association (RVIA) President Frank Hugelmeyer and Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) CEO Toby O’Rourke are also addressing the annual breakfast facilitated by RVBusiness magazine and co-sponsored by the RVIA, Airxcel, Wells Fargo CDF, Thor Industries Inc., KOA, Dometic, Winnebago Industries Inc., Forest River Inc., Spartan Motors Inc. and Cummins Inc.
“This has been an interesting year preparing for the Power Breakfast,” said Thompson. “We’ve had more interest in attending the event, which has increased the size of the crowd. We are also contending with scattered parking issues due to the construction underway on the east side of the Hall, where a large paving project is underway and a new pavilion for shows and rallies is being built. And the weather may well be an element, judging by the forecasts we’re seeing. So, the best advice we can give people is to make a concerted effort to arrive early, use common sense and be patient. Promptly at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, we’ll kick off the seventh annual Power Breakfast program, and it’ll be a good one.”
Parking tips: Once the adjacent HOF lot is full, attendees may park along Executive Parkway, the main road in from County Road #17, and Independence Court leading up to the RSM and Furrion facilities next door. Visitors are also welcome to utilize Furrion’s visitor parking spaces and outer perimeter drive. Meanwhile, shuttle buses will be available to ferry attendees back and forth before and after the Power Breakfast.
