Creative Coatings plans to invest $2.9 million to expand its northwest Fort Wayne, Ind., headquarters, the company announced Thursday (Aug. 3).
The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette reported that the company, which applies protective coatings to metal products and services the recreational vehicle, automotive and heavy-duty truck industries, said in a statement that it plans to create 25 jobs in the next three years as part of the expansion.
The company currently employs 50 people. Creative Coatings has not determined what the wages will be for the new jobs, President Richard Lain said.
Creative Coatings plans to add 42,600 square feet of space to its facility that will house an electro-coat system where metal parts are dipped in protective coating, Lain said.
The company is investing $1.5 million in production equipment and $1.4 million for the addition to the 63,600-square-foot building.
The firm is expanding to meet increased customer demand, Lain said. Creative Coatings also powder coats materials. Adding the electro-coat system will allow the company to serve new clients and give current customers a different option for applying coatings, he said.
“It’s all come about as our customers and their needs grow and change,” Lain said.
Creating Coatings expects to start construction on the addition in two weeks, Lain said, and the work is slated for completion by the end of the year.
