Indiana’s Vincennes University presented its first-ever Recreational Vehicle Manufacturer Quality and Productivity Awards to two Indiana companies during the 42nd National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Ky.
RV builders that were awarded the Gold Quality and Productivity Award for 2004 included Ameri-Camp LLC of Syracuse and both the towable and motorized divisions of Nappanee-based Gulf Stream Coach Inc.
According to a press release, the Quality and Productivity Awards were established through VU’s Statewide Business and Industry Training Program, which assists companies throughout the state with upgrading employee skills.
“VU’s B & I personnel have been very impressed with the positive impact that RV manufacturers have on the economy and the extra effort that leaders in the industry are putting forth toward advanced manufacturing practices,” said John Ludlow, assistant vice president of Statewide Business and Industry for VU.
According to VU, criteria for the award include a company overview and six specific areas of performance: leadership, improvement planning, human resources, customer service and satisfaction, quality and productivity, and supplier partnerships.
