Best Buy RVs Inc. has ceased all operations in Ohio and Indiana with no anticipated reopen date, according to a report by the Springfield News-Sun.
A few weeks ago, the Richmond, Ind.-based company announced it was closing its Springfield location, then a few days later announced it has decided to stay, but with some modifications.
“Due to economic conditions, we are presently closed,” said Dennis Runzer, Best Buy’s owner. He has posted the same message on the company’s website, bestbuyrvs.com.
Best Buy customers needing service should call their vehicle’s manufacturer or contact Southwest RV, in Fairfield, Ohio, Runzer said.
Runzer offered no guess as to when any of his locations might reopen, adding, “Hopefully, times will get better, but there’s nothing that’s 100% for sure right now.”
A few weeks ago, Runzer said the Springfield location would reopen as a parts, service and storage location. That may still happen, but under new ownership.
The same attributes he felt would make Springfield a successful parts and service center are attracting others.
“I have had inquiries from a number of interested parties about buying the Springfield location…Springfield is an excellent location and the lot is set up right. It has a great deal of appeal,” he said.
