The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) presented (L-R in photo) Winnebago Industries Inc.’s Ray Beebe, Winnebago’s Steve Evenson, and Lance Wilson of the Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) with association awards at the Joint Committee Luncheon held June 11 at Committee Week in Washington, D.C. in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the RV industry.

Awards included:

• David J. Humphreys RV Industry Unity Award — Wilson, executive director of FRVTA, was presented the David J. Humphreys RV Industry Unity Award, presented jointly by RVIA and the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) to recognize those who strive to encourage the multiple constituencies of the RV industry to work collectively for the growth and betterment of the RV industry. “Through his work at FRVTA, with the Go RVing Coalition, and in industry education efforts, Lance has been untiring and unfaltering in his passion to advance the RV industry,” said RVIA Chairman Gregg Fore. “He also works to foster a productive, cooperative environment among RV manufacturers and dealers, understanding that our future success rests in our ability to overcome inevitable differences to find consensus and common ground.”

National Legislative Award — Beebe received RVIA’s National Legislative Award for his work on legislative matters during his long and illustrious career at Winnebago and as an RVIA volunteer. “As a founding member and former chairman of RVIA’s Lawyers’ Committee and member of RVIA’s Public & Legislative Affairs Committee, Ray has been deeply involved in the critical legislative issues facing the industry for the past 38 years and has worked diligently to find creative solutions to these issues,” said Fore.

National Education Service Award — RVIA’s National Education Service Award was presented to  Evenson for his contributions to the development of industry education programs as a member of the RV Service Training Council and RVDA/RVIA Certification Governing Board. “Through his dedicated participation on the committees directing the industry’s education and training initiatives as well as his work guiding service training efforts at Winnebago, Steve has played a crucial role in elevating and enhancing the RV service technician certification program and other industry education efforts,” Fore said.
