Indy RV Show attendees check out units on display

RVs and attendees pack the floor for the Indy RV Expo

Nearly 4,000 people filled the West Pavillon at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Saturday (Jan. 9) for the opening day of the 48th Annual Indy RV Expo, a nine-day show sponsored by the Indianapolis-based Indiana Manufactured Housing Association/Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA/RVIC). “Traffic has been great and we’ve made a few sales already,” said Nathan Hart, general manager and partner for Walnut Ridge RV, New Castle, Ind., just four hours into the show. “The interest level has been high and people have been asking for specific units. That’s a good sign.”

“The traffic has been outstanding, and the beautiful thing at this RV-only show is that everyone has an RV or wants an RV, so it is a lot more fun for us to work this show,” added IMHA/RVIC President Ken Eckstein, president of Mount Comfort RV in Greenfield, Ind. “The Internet has made people much more aware as they ask for specific models, specific floorplans, and they are more educated and more prepared than we have ever seen before.”

Joining Walnut Ridge RV and Mount Comfort RV at the show were Colerain RV, Indianapolis; Modern Trailer Sales, Anderson, Ind.; Lafayette Trailer Sales, Lafayette, Ind., plus Indianapolis-based Braun’s Fun Time Campers and Camping World RV of Indianapolis.
