A private investment company has offered to buy a substantial majority stake in Canadian RV manufacturer Winalta Inc.
Letters to stockholders were to have been mailed Monday (Aug. 21) by Kos Investments Ltd., a Canadian investment firm owned by Artie T. Kos Family Trust, which was capitalized by Kos selling his oil-field transportation company earlier this year.
Winalta directors earlier approved the deal in which Kos agreed to purchase 87% of the common stock in the company.
The principal stockholders of publicly traded Winalta – James and Alice Sapara and Winmore 7 Inc. – have agreed to tender their shares to Kos. The sale is expected to close in late September.
Winalta Inc. is a producer of manufactured, modular and site-built homes, RVs and industrial projects. Through its subsidiary Vanguard Inc., Winalta manufacturers Vanguard, Frontier, Security and Kodiak Class C motorhomes, fifth-wheels and travel trailers at plants in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and Thetford Mines, Quebec.
