Italy-based refrigeration and cooling systems supplier Rivacold, will soon be manufacturing some of its Vitrifrigo brand refrigerators in Georgia. According to a press release, the company has invested $5 milion at the new facility in Buford as Rivacold continues to expand its U.S. operations.

Rivacold currently employs over 1,200 people in their worldwide operations.

Doug Schmidt, president of Rivacold North America, said in a press release, “After 53 years of refrigeration design and service in Europe, we are excited to establish our first manufacturing plant to service the North American market. Throughout our experience, we’ve learned that the only way to service customers properly is to have local design and manufacturing. We’ve added additional sales and marketing support, dedicated to RV manufacturers, that will be incorporating our refrigerators and freezers into their newest products.”

Vitrifrigo’s lineup includes the DRW180A all-in-one compressor drawer refrigerator system. With the touch of a button, the user can configure one drawer as a refrigerator and one as a freezer, both as refrigerators, or both as freezers. The units require no outside venting and will floorplan flexibility by allowing installation in islands and peninsula cabinets. The unit also features stainless-steel finish, with a vented panel and integrated door latch.

The Slim 150 is designed for Class B and C motorhomes built on the Mercedes-Benz, RAM ProMaster and Ford Transit chassis. It offers an AIRLOCK latch system, low noise level (quite mode), reduced energy consumption during the evening hours and the ability to quickly reach desired temperature level (turbo mode).

Sales Director Nelson Pinheiro added, “Beyond the two new units, we will have our regular dorm style system featuring a light silver color in sync with the new trend of lighter cabinetry.  This creates a brighter and harmonized ambience for the consumers.”
