Jayco Inc. has added the first sport utility RV (SURV) – the Seneca ZX – to its two-year-old Seneca minimotorhome lineup. Featuring a 36-foot floorplan with a 10-foot garage on a 22,000-pound GVWR Chevy Kodiak cutaway, Seneca ZX is intended to compete with more expensive recreational vehicles. “We’ve tried to create the look and the feel of a Class A motorhome in a toy hauler – the fit and the finish,” said Jim Jacobs, vice president of sales and marketing for the Middlebury, Ind., manufacturer. Retailing from $146,000, Seneca ZX’s garage area is equipped with a 1,600 pound lift gate, diamond plate edging, two 9-foot-long steel cabinets, clothes racks, a garage-style rear door with an optional screen and a 55 Kw generator. Optional full body paint also is available.
