Jayco Inc. unveiled its 2009 lineup of travel trailers, fifth-wheels, sport utility trailers and motorhomes at the 46th Annual National RV Show today (Dec. 2) in Louisville, Ky.
The Middlebury, Ind.-based company also introduced its new fuel-efficient Jay Feather, 2010 Recon ZX sport utility trailer (SUT) and the new Precept Class C motorhome — Jayco’s first coach built on the diesel-powered Dodge Sprinter chassis.
Following are highlights of the company’s new products:

  • The Precept is a contemporary RV that offers the “total package” of high-class features, luxury car performance and excellent fuel efficiency, the company stated in a press release. The Sprinter-based Precept is powered by a Mercedes-Benz 3.0-L CDI 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine that delivers the best fuel mileage in the motorhome category.
  • The new 2009 Jay Feather travel trailer is lighter, more compact and more energy efficient than previous Jay Feather models.
  • The 2010 Recon ZX is available in a number of floorplan designs and three color options. The fifth-wheel toy hauler can store large toys, up to four ATVs, several motorcycles or a side by side.
  • The new high-end Insignia Class A motorhome is built on a Freightliner XCR Series chassis. It boasts a Cummins ISC turbocharged 360-horsepower diesel engine and 6-speed Allison 3000 MH electronic transmission.
  • The newest Melbourne 24E Class C combines sleek lines, nimble handling and liveability for consumers who require the comfort of a Class A motorhome in a smaller size.
  • At more than 40 feet in length, the Embark Class C motorhome features four slideouts and a comfortable floorplan, as well as high-end amenities that give it a sense of luxury and provide the everyday conveniences and comforts of home.
    Meanwhile, Jayco’s new Entegra Coach subsidiary also introduced its first models. They include:

  • The entry-level Emblem fifth-wheel, available in 32- to 38-foot lengths and five floorplans.
  • The Alante fifth-wheel, available in three 30-foot floorplans, two wood choices and two decor selectins.
  • The Aspire Class A motorhome, available in 40- to 42-foot lengths, five floorplans and full-body paint with a choice of three exterior colors.
  • The mid-range Class A Anthem, built on a Spartan Mountain master tag-axle chassis with a Cummins ISL 425-horsepower electronic engine featuring an Allison 3000 MH 6-speed transmisison and electronic shifter.
  • The Cornerstone Class A, available in three 45-foot floorplans, multiple slideouts, three wood choices and four decors.
  • The Entimadator toy hauler, offered in two 42-foot models in a choice of two floorplans and a selection of slideout rooms.
