Jayco Inc. announced on Monday (April 20)  it is suing Heartland Recreational Vehicles LLC  for trademark infringement and unfair competitive practices, according to WNDU-TV, South Bend, Ind.

The suit by the Middlebury, Ind., RV manufacturer alleges that Elkhart, Ind.-based Heartland violated federal law by adopting the Eagle Ridge name for a line of vehicles, even though Jayco has owned the trademark since 1991.

Jayco is demanding Heartland pay it the money made by selling any Eagle Ridge products and that Heartland stop using the Eagle name.

Jayco says the Eagle line has consistently been one of its top selling brands for a decade.
