Forty-five parks in the Jellystone Park network now have business listings on TripAdvisor.com as the online travel rating service expands its presence in the outdoor hospitality market.

“We think this is the right move for us as we continue to expand our online marketing capabilities,”said Michele Wisher, director of marketing for Leisure Systems, Inc., which franchises Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts across the U.S. and Canada.

Forty-five of LSI’s 81 Jellystone Parks took advantage of a special promotional offer to have business listings on TripAdvisor.com. According to a press release, additional Jellystone Parks are expected to join the TripAdvisor network in the coming months.

In addition to offering business listings, TripAdvisor recognizes top-rated campgrounds, RV parks and resorts with Certificate of Excellence awards. The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Establishments awarded the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website.

Jellystone Parks in Cave City, Ky., Luray, Va., North Java, N.Y., and Williamsport (Hagerstown), Md., have all received TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards.

When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honorees that takes into account reviews ratings. Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, volume and recency of reviews. Additional criteria include a business’tenure and popularity ranking on the site.

TripAdvisor representatives are scheduled to speak at and attend Leisure Systems Inc.’s annual symposium and tradeshow, which is scheduled for Nov. 10- 3 at the Embassy Suites Rivercenter and Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington.
